Our principal, Shawn Vike, has shown management potential from a young age. At 17 he managed a Pizza222 location in Langley, BC and at 18 was a Commission Agent for Super Save Gas in Langley and Aldergrove, BC. He has shown organizational skills that have helped him to be a leader in whatever industry he has been in. From managing complex Professional Sound System installations in Houses of Worship to Coordinating a massive retrofit of the lighting control network at CBC Toronto, Shawn has done it all. 

For over 20 years Shawn worked at Pathway Connectivity, Inc in Calgary, AB. From being the first employee to holding the position of VP, Production, and later Director, Production after being acquired by Acuity Brands Lighting, Shawn has been involved in all aspects of Electronics Manufacturing. He lead the team to vertically integrate all of Pathway’s electronics manufacturing with the installation of a Surface Mount Production Line. He setup the entire inventory control system and purchasing and was instrumental in having and ERP system implemented. 

Shawn worked closely with engineering to manage projects from concept to completion and along the way learned about PCB layout and manufacturing processes, plastic injection molding, aluminum die casting and sheet metal bending. He learned more than he ever wanted to know about PoE, DMX, RS485 and TCP/IP. Many of the Gray Interfaces and Pathway products feature artwork created by Shawn.  He truly understands how to interpret “engineer speak” (a.k.a. dolphin) to plain English. 

Shawn is well known in the Calgary area as a purchaser, but he is so much more. He want to help your company grow using his skill set. If you are new to the industry or just trying to improve your processes SSFE is here to help.

Shawn has also used his skill sets in other was. He spent 2 years as Food Services Manager at Gull lake Centre, a summer camp and retreat center in Central Alberta, bringing his love of food, people and organization to the kitchen. He is well known as a caterer and camp cook and love to serve others be doing this. He is a former Board member of AKCS and KCES, Christian School organizations in Alberta, a former volunteer with Scouts Canada and Currently sits on the Board of the Airdrie Festival of Lights Society. He strongly believes in volunteering in the community.
